Looking back on some of my older work I've noticed that my skill has improved dramatically, so in an effort to clear out some of my earlier works I've placed some of these masks on sale,
Let's see where to begin. Last Fridays art walk was fantastic, good crowd, wonderful people! Signed up for the Saturday art walk in April and we'll see how it compares to the evening event. Also requested to be juried into the Chandler art walk so wish me luck! Sitting down with a cup of coffee and pencil to paper, hoping to design some new monsters and to incorporate more feathers into the mix without looking too much like a muppet or too much like a standard Mardi Gras mask. Some gothic gargoyles should fuel inspiration. On a personal note I completely conquered Easter! My son is on an adventure kick, so the bunny has provided him with all things for an awesome monster hunt. Filling the Easter eggs with hand made pom pom monsters with googly eyes and foam feet. His easter basket is a small chest type box filled with water canteen nerf guns (to shoot the monsters) binoculars, finger print kit, and health related items via resident evil ( or flower pots in which to grow herbs and such) . I'm trying very hard to keep my mouth shut but its going to be so much fun and the best part is it is a basket with minimal candy! I can't believe how parents fill every egg with candy its crazy, a little is great but my son hasn't even finished his Halloween candy yet! Five masks are drying now to spend a little time looking at art and get inspired for something new. http://www.elfwood.com/~socar2/The-Tree-of-Knowledge.3237313.html This is an artist who has been a long standing inspiration to me, I love what she does with trees and rodents! Five masks on the table for this week, advertisements on Facebook up and running and seem to be having good results with that. Still wish I could figure out SEO though, 60 some odd pages into Google and I still couldn't find my site, what gives? Had a delightful weekend with family and friends, just what the doctor ordered, and guess what arrived in the mail, feathers, bwahahaha. Now to figure out an unusual way to use these suckers; this should be good fun! So excited that people are seeing this site and posting comments, its always good to hear what the world has to say after being holed up in my creative frenzy week after week. I'm very much looking forward to the Gilbert Art Walk on the 23rd for some real face time. Ok, here is my first attempt at a blog entry. Currently working on some redesigns of rabbits and goats, which is always a good time and gives me an excuse to go hang out with my fuzzy pals in the back yard. Its been a fairly hectic week, got 8 new masks up for sale working on 4-5 more for next week and got the website up and running which I am very happy with considering I'm a complete amateur at such things. very much looking forward to taking a break tonight with my wonderful husband and some very good friends! |
